HAZARD CHASE ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH ORCHID CLASSICS
Matthew's agency Hazard Chase has announced a new partnership with Matthew's record label Orchid Classics.
Orchid Classics was established to produce distinctive artist-led recordings, under Trusler's artistic direction. In a short time, the label has developed a fine reputation: "Orchid, shows the way for classical artists after the giant companies' economic turbulence ...... the Orchid label holds plenty of surprises yet." (Time Out, Dec 2006)
James Brown, Managing Director of Hazard Chase will become a director of Orchid and will play a hands-on role in the development of the business. He comments "Many of our artists have relationships with other labels and we have no desire for that to change, but we see Orchid as a very valuable potential route to market for some of our clients. The artistic objective is to produce memorable recordings which enhance the reputations, and thereby advance the careers, of the artists involved. I am also looking forward to working with many other artists who are not associated with our agency - people keep asking me whether this is Hazard Chase's record label, but it is not, it is Matt Trusler's label - we are just helping him along and obviously there will be joint projects from time to time. The so-called "360 degree model" makes no sense to me, but this kind of collaboration can be beneficial for all concerned".
